Finding Things
The library has an iPad in the front lobby to search our Online catalog and a laptop near the entrance of the Kent Room to search for materials in the library.

John Fogg Room
You will find all the newest titles of fiction and non-fiction print books along with large print, audiobooks on CD, DVDs, music on CD & LP and periodicals.

Sarah Farmer Room
Public computers are in the Sarah Farmer Room, along with our Young Adult Collection, U.S. History and Local History Collections.

Front Lobby
Our main circulation desk is located right inside the front door. You will find printing and faxing services in the front lobby and one public computer. Our Seed Library is housed in the old card catalog near the front desk.

We house fiction and non-fiction (through 921 biographies) in the stacks between the main lobby and the Kent Room. We store prolific writers and older DVDs upstairs. A librarian will retrieve any materials you may want from storage.

Interlibrary Loan Services
The library can get most titles of any book/audiobook from other libraries around the State of Maine. If Maine does not carry the materials you are seeking, we can search nationwide to locate it for you. Ask for an ILL form, fill it out for us and then we do all we can to obtain the items that you are looking for.

You can apply for a library card in person at either one of our circulation desks or apply Online at When applying in person please bring something to show proof of Eliot residency and ask the librarian for an application for a new library card.

Online registration can be found on our OPAC page by clicking the log in button on the top right corner of the page. We do ask that you show proof of Eliot residency when you come to pick up your new library card.

To obtain a non-resident library card you must visit the library in person and renew your membership annually. Our current non-resident fee is $52.00. We do have a reciprocal agreement with South Berwick Public Library.

By signing our membership application, you are agreeing to be financially responsible for all items borrowed on your account. All patrons under 18 must obtain a parent/guardian signature. All borrowed items are due back in two weeks. Items can be renewed up to two times as long as there are no patrons waiting for the items. Overdue fees for items owned by Willliam Fogg Public Library accrue after two days at the rate of 10 cents a day. Late fees for interlibrary loan items are $1.00 per day beginning a week after the due date.  Return or renew on-time to avoid those late fees!

Library visitors can sign up to use a public computer at the front desk, or make an appointment online.  We have a 30-minute time limit if there are people waiting to use a computer.  Wifi sign in information is available at the front desk.
